You Thought you Knew

1. Superficial knowledge is not saving faith – Knowing facts about Jesus or His background is not the same as truly knowing Him in a transformative, relational way.

2. Religious pride and self-interest can blind hearts – The religious leaders rejected Jesus not out of ignorance but because He threatened their power, exposed their sin, and challenged their comfort.

3. True knowledge of Jesus is proven by obedience – Professing “Lord, Lord” is empty without doing the Father’s will; genuine faith leads to submission and transformation.

4. The urgency of response – Jesus warns that a time will come when those who reject Him will seek Him in vain, showing the importance of repenting and believing now.

5. Jesus is the only way to the Father – Eternal life and true relationship with God are found exclusively through wholehearted trust and surrender to Jesus.
